Postcard

Introduction

The postcard shows a compact look at the latest events and offers and needs to be concise and efficient. We follow the same grid system as the flyer with adjustments to size of modules and typography.

Example creative

Grid

The grid for the postcard follows the same square module system as the flyer. However, with the smaller page size, it becomes a 2x4 grid. A header is placed above the grid on the back side with room for legal copy below. The front page is reserved for a single creative piece and has no restrictions from rows or columns.

Inset Grid

A – Inset grid
B – Module boundary

The inset grid is the boundary for graphics and copy within a module. When placed in a single module, the margin created is specifically designed to be the correct padding for the Chek Box Frame or Implied Chek Box Frame. For larger frames, adjustments are necessary. Chek Box Frames are built into our supplied templates.

Typography

Type sizes and spacing should stay consistent throughout the postcard. In order to create hierarchy between offers we recommend using larger headline sizes with limited use.

A – SC The Future Black, 18-24pt (Used max. once per page)
B – SC The Future Black, 12/14pt
C – SC The Future Bold, 8/9pt
D – SC The Future Regular, 8/9pt
E – SC The Future Regular, 6/7pt
F – Roboto Condensed Regular, 4/4.5pt
G – Condensed Save Story

SKU placements

To add a sense of movement to our most basic product photography, we can use rotation and depth to bring energy to our SKU placements. This can break up rigid, gridded product layouts.

In some situations the overuse of the SKU rotation and cropping can make a grid layout feel too busy and distracting. In these situations standard gridded SKU placements can be used with occasional rotated treatments to add energy and excitement.
