Overview

Team Sports Events are one of our highest-level sales. They are major promotional events that occur twice per year. These events respond to direct competition in the team sports space and need to feel big and exciting. To stand out amongst our competitors, we use core brand elements in an amplified way.

Lockup

Team Sports Events have a customized vertical and horizontal lockup.

Striped Frame

Inspired by team uniforms we use a striped frame as our main graphic element.

Event name modifier (limit to 3 sports per event)
B – Event lockup
C – Date range; type size based on 0.5x modifier type size
D – Save story; type size based on 1.5x modifier type size
E – Legal copy; at least smaller than 0.25x modifier size
F – Leading; based on modifier x-height
G – 2x Leading

When constructing a lockup always begin with the predesigned template. Modifiers can be altered to accommodate different line/word lengths, but should be kept as close to the original size ratio as possible.
 

Lockup hierarchy

When creating lockups for Team Sports Events, ensure the event name is significantly larger than the save story. These events are building brand equity and we want the event title to be the top level in the hierarchy.

Orientation

Team Sports Event lockups have two orientations in order to best fit the needs of different channels. Always select the orientation that has the most presence in your layout.

Colour

As an event with major brand equity, we stay within our core colour palette for Team Sports Events.


Lockup colours

Team Sports Event lockups can be black/red on a white background or white on an SC Red background.
