Multivendor DM

Introduction

The multivendor direct mailer follows the same design system as the flyer and postcard, but with some adjustments to the grid to allow for a more fluid layout.

Example creative

Grid

The grid works with the same square module system as the flyer and postcard applications, with the addition of a gutter to accommodate more fluid layouts.

Inside spread grid

A – Grid module
B – Inset grid module
C – Gutter
D – Margin for vendor logos

Square grid modules

The square modules allow for our square graphic elements to be used at a variety of sizes, and the inset grid paired with the gutter allows for the appropriate clear space around frames.

A – Example of a square graphic element aligned to the inset grid
B – When a corner is aligned to the inset grid, the combined space between the inset margin and the gutter create sufficient space around frame elements
C – Gutter
D – Square elements can be enlarged to a maximum of 6x6 modules

Creative example on grid

A – Grid modules accommodate a headline & 1-2 lines of subhead comfortably
B – Example of frame use aligned to inset margin on inner corner
C – Example of Implied Chek Box Frame use aligned to inset margin on inner corner
D – Example of Implied Chek Box Frame use bleeding off page

Use of frame

The grid is optimized to use our Chek Box Frame and Implied Chek Box Frame in a variety of ways. Below outlines how to align these elements to the grid.

A – Chek Box Frame using 5x5 grid modules aligned to inset grid on inner corner
B – Clear space from headline created by inset margin + gutter
C – Chek Box Frame bleeding off page

Overuse of Chek Box Frame

The Chek Box Frame is a useful tool to highlight a product or image and make it stand out. However, when overused it loses its impact and therefore its effectiveness. Only use the Chek Box Frame a maximum of once per spread. Also, consider using a variety of colours for the Chek Box Frame to maintain visual interest.

Consider using an Implied Chek Box Frame more often to allow the Chek Box Frame to have more impact.

Chek Box Frame Colours

A – SC Red
B – Pale Grey
C –
Light Grey
D –
Mid Grey
E –
Black

C – SC The Future Black, 12/14pt
