Badges
Canadian Tire Badges are special endorsements that we stake our reputation on. These Badges are Omni-Channel, visually unique and designed to stand out from all other icons and slugs. Badges can include both text and icons in their design but must be held within a container shape.
When creating a Badge, consider all existing Badges within the System and how the new one fits in. Ask yourself: is this new Element a Badge or a Slug? Does it represent a CT brand endorsement? Does it relate to an already exiting Badge or program? Is it tied to an Omni Identity?
If you are confident that a Badge is what you require, please contact BrandSteward@cantire.com to make the request. Below are the guidelines that must be followed when creating a new Badge.
Foundations
Due to the reliance on the credibility of the Canadian Tire brand, Badges should utilize the CT brand colour palette whenever possible and must not resemble any other existing Badge (unless they are related).
CT Eastman should also be the default font when creating a new Badge to maintain the connection with the foundations of the Canadian Tire Brand.
Utilize unique container shapes when appropriate. Container shapes should use rounded corners to align with those seen in the CT Brandmark.
Consider all channels. Every Badge must be designed to be used in all channels. This means they must be legible in a wide range of sizes, from very small in flyer to very large in POP.
