The family of Big Red Weekend lockups are made up of a selection of optional and required elements. The event name, tier and graphic element are required to be used in all instances, but the duration and the tagline are optional and can be used as needed.

A – Event duration (optional)
B – Event name
C – Tier
D – Tagline (optional)
E – Modified counter
F – Consistent leading
G – Leading ×3

The Big Red Weekend lockups are designed using different type sizes—set in CT Eastman Roman Heavy—in order to emphasize message hierarchy. Type sizes may be adjusted accordingly.

Standard lockup

High priority duration/tagline

Always begin with the predesigned lockups, available in the Downloads section of this page. Updates should be minimal, limited to wording only. If more substantial changes are required, please contact the Brand Design Systems Team at BrandSteward@cantire.com.

Modified counter

The Triangle Element replaces the typical counter of the letter D in the word Red. This modified counter may be rotated in any direction, which in turn will affect the background pattern. Choose the best orientation for your layout.

The modified counter may be rotated in any direction.

The background pattern always aligns with the position of the counter.

In French, the modified counter appears in the D of the word Grand.

Orientation

Big Red event lockups each have a variety of orientations in order to best fit the needs of different channels. Always select the orientation that has the most presence in your layout.

A – Vertical
B – Horizontal 1
C – Horizontal 2
D – Horizontal 3

Colour

Primary colour palette

Stick to the primary colour palette as much as possible for Big Red event layouts:

Secondary colour palette

You may use these colours when accents are needed in the layout, but only when the same result cannot be achieved with the two primary colours:

Lockup colour options

The preferred colour scheme for Big Red event lockups is white text over a red background; however, these colours may be inverted when the situation requires it. Never place the lockups over a background that is not CT White or CT Red.

Pattern

When placing an event pattern with a lockup, ensure the graphic element and the angle of the pattern align so it appears to be radiating outward from the counter of the D.

Align the pattern with the counter of the D

Do not use the pattern with the alternate colour scheme
