New Badges
We use the New Badge to highlight the range of new products which we sell at Canadian Tire. Using the triangle shape from our Brandmark and CT Red, this badge can only be used for a limited time while a product is considered to be new.
Variation
The New Badge has two variations to allow for flexibility in all our channels. These two versions are our standard and In Copy Badge.
Standard New Badge
The primary version. Should be the default used in all designs.
In Copy New Badge
The secondary treatment for the New Badge. Should only be used when space cannot accommodate the Standard Badge.
Colour
Each variation of the New Badge is available in Full Colour and Knockout.

Languages
Each of the variation and colour versions of the New Badge are available in English, French and Bilingual.
Size and positioning
The New Badge should always be placed in the top left corner of the image area unless a brand logo is present. When a brand logo appears, the New Badge appears on the right.
The size and alignment should be proportionate to the Product Savings price point. Note that the New Badge should never increase in size and is always based on the measure of 2 digits of the price point width.
Note: The Print Flyer channel requires the badge to scale according to slot size and the placement to be flexible to accommodate the range of product images shown. For more information on the size and setup of flyer slots, please see the Product Slot page.
A — Super Feature & Feature slot size

C — Double and Traffic slot size
D — Double and Traffic slot size for when space is exceptionally limited
Do's and don'ts
Do use the Standard Badge as often as possible.
Don't alter the appearance of the badge. This includes colour, keylines, shape and typeface.
Do place the badge overtop of a portion of the product image when needed.
Don't apply the badge on an angle.
Do ensure there is enough contrast between the badge and the background colour.
Don't use both the Standard and in Copy Badge for the same product.
