Brandmark placement

The following motion guidelines deal with placement of the Canadian Tire Brandmark, Brand Signatures and Brand endorsements.

Canadian Tire Brandmark

Standard 16:9 video

Basic centered alignment

A – 290×258.5px
B – Vertically centre the triangle portion of the Brandmark (don't include the leaf)

In a 1920×1080 frame, the Brandmark should be 290×258.5 pixels. Scale the Brandmark proportionally if the frame is made larger or smaller.

The basic Brandmark should be centered—optically aligned within the frame by centering the triangle, excluding the leaf.

CTA & CTA+URL placement

When a call-to-action, URL or other copy accompanies the Brandmark, we recommend that you either center the copy under the Brandmark or place it to the right.

A – One half-leaf of space
B – CTAs and/or copy: CT Eastman Roman Extra Bold, 30/34pt, -15 tracking. CT Red, CT Soft Black, or white.
C – Two leaves of space.
D – URL and/or additional copy: CT Eastman Grotesque Bold, 15pt (one line of copy only), +25 tracking. Same colour options as B.
E –
One full leaf of space.
F – Keep lockup attached to bottom of frame, allowing it to expand upwards with longer copy.

A – One half-leaf of space.
B – CTAs and/or copy: use same specs as centered version. Vertically centered copy with entire Brandmark (including leaf).
C – Five leaves of space.
D – URL and/or additional copy: use same specs as centred version.
E – One full leaf of space.
F – Keep lockup attached to bottom of frame, allowing it to expand upwards with longer copy.

Digital video

For consistency, the CT Brandmark should be placed in the centre of the layout on all digital materials, including vertical formats.

A – Basic centering.
B – Note that the Brandmark is centered within the video area, not the screen height. Always centre based on the video's aspect ratio.

A – TikTok – centre the Brandmark (excluding leaf) within the video's safe area.
B – 1:1

Brand Signature

Standard 16:9 video

Basic centered alignment

A – 560×208px
B – Vertically centre the triangle portion of the Brand Signature (don't include the leaf).

In a 1920×1080 frame, the Brandmark should be 560×208 pixels. Scale the Brand Signature proportionally if the frame is made larger or smaller.

The Brand Signature should be centered—optically aligned within the frame by centering the triangle, excluding the leaf.

For vertical Brand Signatures, we recommend maintaining no less than one full Brandmark measure to the edge of the safety area. Vertically centre the full Brand Signature, excluding the leaf (note the extra half leaf of space at the bottom of these layouts, which reflects this).

CTA & CTA+URL placement

When a call-to-action, URL or other copy accompanies the Brand Signature, we recommend that you either centre the copy under the Brand Signature or align it with the Canada's Store lockup (for horizontal signatures).

G – Keep lockup attached to bottom of frame, allowing it to move up or down depending on copy length

Digital video

Watermark

In applications such as YouTube, we place a small Brandmark at the top left corner of the frame at all times except the intro and outro sequences. In a 1920×1080 frame, the Watermark should be 118×106 pixels, at 50% opacity. The Brandmark must touch the top and left margins. Note that the channel bug (ie. for YouTube) should be disabled with the use of the Watermark. Visit the General motion page for details on the Watermark's animation.

Brand endorsements

Standard 16:9 video

A – Brand endorsements must have a minimum of one full Brandmark of clear space to the left and right.

B – Vertically centre the Brand Endorsement, then add one half leaf of extra space below it so that it sits slightly higher than centre.

We recommend using horizontal brand endorsements for 16:9 and other horizontal formats. Always maintain at least one full Brandmark of clear space to the left and right of the endorsement and optically centre it—by first vertically centering it and then moving it upwards by one half leaf of space.

Digital video

A – Maintain at least one half Brandmark of clear space to the left and right of the brand endorsement. The endorsement should be vertically centered and then moved upwards by one half leaf.

B – Note that the brand endorsement is centered within the video area, not the screen height. Always centre based on the video's aspect ratio.

A – TikTok – centre the Brand Signature within the video's safe area and move it upwards by one half leaf of space.
B – 1:1
