Made in/Product of Canada Badges
This series of badges are an endorsement of a product being made in Canada. There is very strict criteria a product must meet in order to qualify for one of these badges. Depending on how much of the product was made/manufactured/assembled in Canada, a product can qualify for one of these two badges.
Variations
There are two types of variations that exist for the Made in/Product of Canada Badges: the type and orientation. These badges come in two different variations, each with their own set of qualifications a product must meet to be used.
Type
Made in Canada
This badge can only be used on products that meet the following criteria:
1. The last substantial transformation of the good occurred in Canada;
2. At least 51% of the total direct costs of producing or manufacturing the good have been incurred in Canada; and
3. The "Made in Canada" representation is accompanied by an appropriate qualifying statement, such as "Made in Canada with imported parts" or "Made in Canada with domestic and imported parts". This could also include more specific information such as "Made in Canada with 60% Canadian content and 40% imported content".
4. Request for approval to use the badge must be submitted by the project owner (e.g. Consumer Brand, Merchandise/Buyers) to Heritage Canada at uds-uos@pch.gc.ca
Product of Canada
This badge can only be used on products that meet the following criteria:
1. The last substantial transformation of the good occurred in Canada; and
2. All or virtually all (at least 98%) of the total direct costs of producing or manufacturing the good have been incurred in Canada.
Designed in Canada
Please reach out to the CT legal team (ccr.legal@ctfs.com) before implementing badge to ensure the product meets the required threshold to make this claim.

The Made in/Product of Canada Badges are available in full colour, black and white; and positive and reversed.

Languages
Both of the variations and colour versions of the Made in/Product of Canada Badges are available in English, French and Bilingual.
Sizing and positioning
The Made in/Product of Canada Badge should always be placed in the top left corner of the image area unless a brand logo is present. When a brand logo appears, the badge appears on the right.
When placing a Made in/Product of Canada Badge, ensure that text does not appear below 6pt in size.
Do's and don'ts
Any application of the Made in/Product of Canada Badges must be reviewed by the Legal Department. Do NOT use either badge unless approval has been confirmed. Incorrect or misleading use of these badges can lead to large fines by the Competition Bureau of Canada.
Do select the right badge based on the product's qualifications.
Don't scale the badge so text is less than 6pt.
Do use the full colour red and white badge (in positive or reverse) whenever possible.
Don't alter the badge in any way.

Product of Quebec, Manufactured in Quebec, or Designed in Quebec
Products that claim to be "products of" or "manufactured in" or "designed in" Quebec are reviewed and approved by an external non-for-profit called Les Produit de Québec, after which their badge creative will be released for use.
